Ladies’ first team come top!

As the winter season draws to a close, our Ladies 1st team, under the captaincy of Catherine Botwright, have finished the season as winners of Division 5. This means that the ladies team are assured of promotion to Division 4 next winter – the highest division they will have ever played in.  The club will also receive a certificate which will be proudly displayed in the Club House.

Congratulations to the ladies who played in the team – Catherine, Linda, Kath, Sheila and Milcah. Well played ladies!

Dates announced!

The SLTC committee has just announced some important dates for the months ahead.

We start off with our Open day on the 29th April and continue through the summer with tournaments for all members. Make a note of these dates so you can take part.

Manor House 2012

We all had a great weekend full of activities and spa treatments. New this year was the falconry display and the reptile show, so even those uanble to take part in the non-stop physical activity were kept fully entertained.  The collective brain power of Sonning LTC was sadly unable to win the Saturday night Quiz though the same people, after a couple of drinks, were later seen enjoying the disco and pool table.

Steve and Kath won both the tennis and table tennis tournaments again this year but didn’t quite manage to match last year’s performance when they also won the badminton.

We’ve already booked for next year - the weekend of January 18th-20th. Subject to availability, all welcome.

New storage shed installed

The new shed is now in position next to our new club house.

We will be dividing the shed into two areas. One end of the shed will house the new toilet facility while the other end will be for storage.

The shed was installed in only 40 minutes and it now completes the overhaul of the SLTC club house and shed.

The new SLTC toilet and shed has been ordered!

A Biolet toilet BIO-STC-153 from Rainbow Trading Post and a Barnwell Workshop with Apex roof from Wyevale Garden Centre should be delivered in 4-5 weeks time.

“Robbie the Robot” Charity day Sept 11

We raised over £600 for the Royal Berks, Robbie the Robot appeal!!

We had 51 people down at the club and 41 of those were involved in playing in the tennis tournament.

The money was raised by entry fees, a raffle and the profit from the barbecue.

Thanks to everyone for a great day and all the money raised.
